Dear @Shaz51 and hi @Determined.
Shaz thats a lot to get through in a day. But you did get through ... so well done you!
I'm sorry your new Dr was so blunt with you yesterday. There is a fine line between wanting to hear the truth and needing to retain hope of improvement. Especially since you are a new patient of this Dr, I am disappointed that she did not show a little more empathy around this sort of news. No wonder you were upset. But I'm glad to hear that Mr Shaz was kind and caring. No doubt he'd be understandably worried for you as well.
Never give up Shaz - medical science are continually coming up with effective solutions and cures. And there is so much research going on around CKD and Diabetes.
Sherry

Sounds like a marathon day @Shaz51. Hang in there.
I found this article- it's a from a U.S. medical site that's generally considered to be a reliable source. Long read, lots of technical info. (Maybe read it once you've had a chance to recoup from today?) Its conculsion seems to be that the combination is difficult, but not necessarily impossible. If your medics are amenable, might be worth running it past them? A diabetes specialist might be the most helpful one to ask. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5469199/

LoL @Shaz51 I was expecting a big discussion but other than he had an awesome time and his legs are sore from exercise activities they were doing he has not had much to say. Mostly happy to be home with his brothers.
