Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Well loving someone with MI is tough. It’s a roller coaster ride . You can’t even plan ahead a holiday or a day off coz it’s all depends on his moods. There are Times I feel as if I live to serve and understand him but when he is in his normal self you’ll see a caring thoughtful man. So yeah it’s tough but i wont give up on him coz I love him.

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

hello @Former-Member, @Maryjune, @Adge, @Faith-and-Hope, @Determined, @Former-Member, @Former-Member

My MIL is not well now , she has osteoporosis, scoliosis, and her bones are thinning , in lots of pain

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

My Hubby's Mum has the same. 😞 It's odd how quickly it can emerge as a problem.

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

I know @Smc, how are you

and how is your MIL xx

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

MIL is generally OK. Very bad scoliosis means that her mobility is very poor, but FIL is still pretty fit, so she's still able to live at home with him as a carer. She occasionally goes into respite care so that he can get a rest break. We don't see them as often as we'd like. They live a couple of hours away, so much closer than my family, but we're often feeling too exhausted to organise the trip.

Me... am a bit on edge at the moment. Older Daughter's in a bad patch. 😞 It feels weird sending out invites for the birthdays+anniversary party. Big celebration offing on one hand, lurking danger on the other.... aaargh! How do you balance that??
