Cartoon a very good example of my shed pre move. New shed is better but not by much. And it is 1 bay wider. Was.planning to have had it sorted before uni resumed but supprise supprise that did not happen.

@Determined

I have found that I have needed to be gentle on myself in relation to how cluttered our place became in our crisis and recognise it for what it was - a stress reaction to the trauma and I think perhaps the tidy up has been a reflection of my own healing.

Re: Decluttering and home maintenance

I can understand that @Former-Member

Re: Decluttering and home maintenance

Ditto here @Determined, @Former-Member.
I take encouragement from the fact that when I have control of a space, I tend to keep it ordered... not always, but often enough to prove it's do-able.

Re: Decluttering and home maintenance

Finished packing our books today ...yay.

A few more items out the door - a neighbour and friend the recipients 😀.

Re: Decluttering and home maintenance

I can also relate to all this. Clutter as a mirror of a depressed state of mind.

We (my wife and me) have done some major decluttering in our garage this weekend due to massive rats/mice infestation after returning from holidays, and it feels so good! 🙂 Clearer minds = clearer house.  🙂

And I love teasing her while we are doing such hard physical jobs to brighten up the whole process, and she likes it. Sometimes I just call her name while we are working, and when she probably thinks that I will tell her something about the jobs, I simply say: I love you. Also, I give her a lot of acknowledgement how amazing she is when she comes with some ideas and/or does some really heavy tasks. I can feel that lands really well for her. I tell her that she looks so beautiful and cute, all dirty and sweaty and she wonders how can I see her like that when she looks like a "grub".  🙂  We are Team and work like that always brings us closer to each other.

Re: Decluttering and home maintenance

Nothing like a rodent visit to facilitate a clean up @Radleritis 😀.
