Re: Overwhelmed

Hey @Pem I just wanted to check in to see how you are doing.

Are you feeling more confident regarding the gig?

I love the advice put out by @PinkFlamingo. It's sometimes really hard to feel 'worthy' of the recognition or praise others give us, while at the same time remembering that the way others perceive us doesn't define who we are.

I know it's sometimes called imposter syndrome, but I feel like that term can be a bit stigmatising. Nonetheless, there's a couple of really useful exercises which have helped me put things in perspective in the past including the cognitive triangle (explained well here https://hudsontherapygroup.com/blog/cognitive-triangle) and the RAIN midfulness exercise (https://www.mindful.org/tara-brach-rain-mindfulness-practice/). Both of these have helped me gain perspective on the thing I'm feeling anxious about. But these might not work for everyone, as everyone learns and copes with mental health distress differently.

Whether or not you use these strategies, I hope you're being kind to yourself, and reach out when and if you need 💛
