Re: Just checking in.

When I'm angry and hurt like this @Faith-and-Hope nothing much helps. Even smashing plates or throwing socks won't help my mood much atm. I feel like doing a lot more damage than plain old plate smashing.

Re: Just checking in.

I slept with my phone playing piano music on low volume last night @Sans911 , cos my mr. has been bratty this week, and I have got a psychosomatic anxiety response going on again, that I had to settle last month too.

Hibiscus tea is another recent go-to I have found is helping.

What do others here do to help self-soothe when sh*t like this happens ?

@Zoe7 @Teej @Appleblossom @outlander  .... anyone else around .....

I'm sorry lil Sis @outlander 💜 💜

Re: Just checking in.

I have a feeling that just now @Sans911  needs to just get through the best way she can @Faith-and-Hope . I don’t think there is anything any of us can say that will help just now in full internal rage mode. It’s a really 🤬:pile_of_poo:tty place to be. I hope that she knows we are all here for her though and sitting by her side (injecting cuddle hormones into the cats secretly). Love and light @Sans911 . 💜🤗

Re: Just checking in.

Crossed posts with you @Sans911 .....

I used to change the furniture around, sometimes at 2-3 in the morning, when my mr or mil really upset me when my kids were little.  I would change it, and change it, and couldn’t find a comfortable fit ..... but my hubby would come home and fall over it in the dark cos he didn’t know I had changed everything ..... it was before mobile phone torches, so he ended up flicking the light on and then off again to see if it was safe to walk into a room.

It used to knock me out so

much physically that the anger started to dissipate and I could sleep.  Otherwise I would just be lying there stewing / spewing.

I have got a cousin who used to go out in the middle of the night and start weeding the garden, if that’s what it took to get rid of the angry adrenaline.

Re: Just checking in.

Thanks @Teej 💕

Re: Just checking in.

I am not much help here @Faith-and-Hope @Sans911 as I don't find anything specifically that will let those feelings dissipate apart from time - and often a lot tears and sleep. For me it also becomes affirmation that life is shitty and people suck and getting through that is hard. Thank goodness for everyone here that collectively care and support us when in that mode of thinking. Just getting through with that support is what helps me the most.

Re: Just checking in.

@Sans911 So many different feelings flow through us.  Self contained cats still give a level of company.

Heart

Mine did the butler thing at the door a few times, as in "good your there", "no I dont want to come in", "BYE", "come for a walk with me".
