Looking after ourselves

Re: What helps you feel safe?

@Faith-and-Hope  Thanks for the tip!

That sounds like a tough situation. Yes baby steps are important, I hope your son goes well with his! A reward system is a good idea too

Re: What helps you feel safe?

Avoiding things is an all to easy escape and be alone does not really help.

Re: What helps you feel safe?

Hey @7fresias , Welcome to the SANE forums! It's great to have you here and thanks for telling the community a bit about yourself.   I'm sure the forum members will be able to offer you support, information and connection   I'm the moderator this evening.   Feel free to ask the SANE forum team or the members if you need help with how to use the forum. Re: What helps you feel safe?

Hi @7fresias and welcome to the forums.

Re: What helps you feel safe?

Do I state how I am feeling and ask for advice?

Re: What helps you feel safe?

Something else that might help is mindfulness meditation - being in the present moment without judgement. With a lot of practice, it's possible to calm yourself down when you're upset by doing this. Being afraid is paralysing in itself - the litany of fear is useful to me.

I will not fear, fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear and allow it to pass through me, and turn the inner eye to follow its path. Where the fear has gone, there will be nothing.
I remain.

Re: What helps you feel safe?

Hi again @7fresias

You are welcome to tell us how you are feeling and ask for advice.

Re: What helps you feel safe?

A sensitive issue so well understood and immediately with this post my mind is reacting, thank you.

Re: What helps you feel safe?

I am feeling misunderstood, outed by loved ones, alone, sad, depressed and thinking what is life all about and is it worth such grief and sadness.

Re: What helps you feel safe?

Sleeping time now, thank you for having me as a newbie in this forum.
