Re: Decluttering and home maintenance

Hi @Radleritis. 🙂

Hope your house is rodent-proofed? Now that you've cleared their hidey holes, they'll be the ones looking for new "real estate". We've got an old weatherboard house, and it'll take major work to square things up to the point where they can't get in here, but we have at least got thoroughly rodent proof cupboards and pantry.

Re: Decluttering and home maintenance

Well done, @Former-Member.

How's it feeling? Excited about moving, missing the "old" place already, a bit of both?

We've had the power out for most of today, so with fewer *ahem distractions that usual, I got around to going through paperwork sitting on our table and feeding all the out of date stuff to the worm farm.

Re: Decluttering and home maintenance

Lol @Smc  love that cartoon.

I have been a little anxious and quite forward telling guys fixing our roof not to be leaving any openings at the end of each day as we have a opossom habitit beside us. Neighbour feeds them and even has nests for them up in the trees. Don't need that moving into our ceiling space.

Re: Decluttering and home maintenance

I am looking forward to being closer to family @Smc , saying goodbye to friends who have been so generous and kind in Mr Darcy's crisis is not easy. The new place has a better floor plan than what we have now and not so socially isolated.  It is an ordinary house block, the small acreage became too much for us.  So there is a sense of anticipation, but also one of caution as there is the well documented stress factor of a long distance move, we feel the potential benefits outweigh the risk of relapse (have transfer of care sorted just in case).

The place is liveable needing only a couple of minor plumbing and paint jobs as necessary repairs but there is plenty of scope to put our own mark on the place.  However, to me a home is the people who live in it, the building of lesser importance.

Feeling a bit tired,  have not had a chance to raid the garden as yet to get bulbs, divisions etc. but will need to do so.

Re: Decluttering and home maintenance

Hi @Former-Member ,

Well, it is a brick house but so many places where they can get in (like underneath the kitchen cupboards).

Still in process of rectifying whats been damaged. It will take some time. We believe they have finaly moved out.

You are right, without finding all these holes they will come again.

Did I mention that we also had a major blockage in the main drainpipe as well, because of the tree roots? 🙂 Fun and games! 🙂

Re: Decluttering and home maintenance

Yikes @Radleritis  if it ain't one thing it's another.

Not wanting to host a possum party eh @Determined  😀.

Re: Decluttering and home maintenance

Still hoisting off items on whoever will take them, if anyone calls in they don't go away empty handed 😀.

Re: Decluttering and home maintenance

Ha ha sounds good @Former-Member , I am trying to get rid of things not get more xx

Hello @Radleritis , @Determined , @Smc , @Faith-and-Hope
